Split Personality

Hi all, thanks for following my work. As you may know I do paint and teach in between doing the books, which helps to give me inspiration and ideas for the books, and interesting paint effects in straight oil and watercolour poictures tend to influence the illustrations and vice versa I suppose. There are lots of artists that have crossed over between illustration and fine art.

I've just been to see the Sargent exhibition at the Tate Britain, highly recommend it! and even seeing that great masters work in oils gives me ideas for colours and composition and more in the cartoons..he was so good at creating focal points, leading the eye and changing reality to suit his vision.

Hope this bit of blurb is ok for a first attempt at blogging.
