True stories about real engines!
Amerton Railway
The home of Isabel
Heading 3
No.6 Isabel
Isabel was named after the daughter of the quarry manager, and here's a photo of her, and her brother Peter, who also had an engine named after him too. (which is at Amberley actually).

The three little boys in the story, really did put pennies on the track and were told off because Isabel derailed, but Joe the driver didn't think that they had caused it.

I'll be at Amerton this year
on 13th August.. We'll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Saddletank Books there too. Come along to see Isabel and the other engines. (2023)
Apparently it's very easy to cook bacon and sousages in Isobel's firebox because it's on a level..and the whistle can deafen the driver because of where it's positioned.
Have a look at www.amertonrailway.co.uk for more information about
The Amerton Railway,
